Tyanda Taylor, LCSW - Clinical Supervisor & Psychotherapist at Rachel Parodneck & Associates Psychotherapy, NYC

About Tyanda

Starting therapy can feel both exciting and a little uncomfortable - Tyanda wants you to know that's normal, and that the first session carries no pressure to have answers. It's a chance for her to get to know you, understand what brought you to therapy, and learn what you're hoping to change or understand better. From there, you build trust and work together at a pace that feels right for you.

Tyanda draws on a wide range of evidence-based approaches - CBT, acceptance and commitment therapy, motivational interviewing, psychodynamic and narrative work, and solutions-focused, strengths-based methods - and blends them around the person in front of her. Her specialties include anxiety, anger management, and addiction, and she brings particular care to the experiences of BIPOC clients, healthcare workers, and fellow mental health professionals.

As one of the practice's clinical supervisors, Tyanda also supports and supervises other therapists on the team - the kind of role that reflects how colleagues see her: steady, thoughtful, and generous with her insight.

How Tyanda Works

A collaborative, compassionate approach built from a broad evidence-based toolkit:

CBT & ACT

Practical, proven tools for anxiety and anger - changing the patterns, not just managing them.

Motivational Interviewing

A collaborative way through ambivalence - especially powerful in addiction recovery work.

Psychodynamic & Narrative

Understanding where the patterns began, and rewriting the story you carry about yourself.

Strengths-Based

Person-centered, solutions-focused work that starts from what's already working in you.
