Maya Gauri

MSW Clinical Intern

My name is Maya Gauri, and I am a masters level clinical social work intern on the Advanced Clinical Practice track at Columbia University’s School of Social Work. I am dedicated to meeting clients where they are at and creating a supportive environment for growth and healing.

I value a strength-based, collaborative approach and am deeply committed to cultural humility. I work with individuals from diverse backgrounds to identify resilience, motivation, and sources of healing in the face of life’s challenges. Because there is no one-size-fits-all when it comes to therapy, I look forward to working together to find an approach that serves you in becoming your most fulfilled and empowered self.

I bring a background in developmental psychology research, which has strengthened my understanding of different life stages and the experiences that inform perspective, beliefs, and behaviors. I have training in Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral therapy techniques. I integrate elements of these approaches with mindfulness-based practices. My goal is to help clients process difficult emotions, reframe their experiences in empowering ways, and move toward healing.

Maya is supervised by Rachel Parodneck, LCSW, CGP, the founder of Rachel Parodneck & Associates Psychotherapy, and as such, you will get the best care while paying a very low fee to work with her. Inquire on our contact form or email info@rachelparodneck.com for details.
