Tyanda Taylor, LMSW
Tyanda is a licensed psychotherapist, who has experience in treating children, adults, adolescents, and families from various backgrounds. She specializes in treating anxiety, mood disorders, stress and anger management, relationship issues, life transitions, self-esteem concerns, trauma, and substance abuse issues. Tyanda earned a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Adelphi University, and a Forensic Social Work certification from Long Island University Post. She has experience working within the hospital sector, clinical settings, correctional facilities, and the criminal justice system. Tyanda prides herself on being a patient, empathetic, kind, culturally affirming, and supportive psychotherapist. She aims to assist her clients’ journey towards healing and growing holistically. She further seeks to provide a warm, compassionate, direct, and person-centered approach to assist her clients in overcoming their daily challenges by harnessing and empowering their strengths and utilizing acceptance. Her treatment modalities include motivational interviewing, solution-focused, trauma-informed, psychodynamic and strength-based approaches. She also employs mindfulness and cognitive behavioral techniques.
